I paid a visit to Burger Knives in Munster, South Africa, initially just to "have a look" and to get my Burger tactical sharpened. The weather was cr@p and my fishing trip had been cancelled, well the bug bit and I returned today and have a new addition to my burger family. A brand new Burger LEXK. The fit and finish is perfect, hair popping sharp too...I have almost no hair left on my left arm. I am absolutely besotted with my new aquisition.

Trevor Burger is an absolutre pleasure to deal with and makes the whole experience fantastic.

It was all down to the EXK 1 in damascus or the LEXK, the LEXK won!

The tactical (along with my RC-3) below has been my EDC since December, but I wanted someting a little more practical for a folding knife.

Here is a view of the 2 (the burger family grows!)

Not sure if this is clear to see, but the new LEXK has a "fatter" liner lock than before.

He sure makes a good looking knife......but holy crap, that's where you live!....beautiful

Yeah, the knives are cool, but, like Jimbo, I'm more jealous of the background. Lucky.

thats some really great pictures!:thumbup: how much did the tactical run you? is that a small wave on it?

Nice new addition and dude that Tactical is awesome! I wasn't aware of that model. I have an EXK1 and love it! I wish I could have bought it directly from Mr. Trevor Burger himself though.

I really like my Boker exskelibur 1 and hope to get an original someday. That thick liner lock looks real nice

I miss thumb stud , cant get used to this knifes , I guess its not for me.
at least this one has a wave , looks like Emerson .

God those Exkeliburs are nice looking blades...elegant simplicity. If only I could afford one...

You can get a "taste" of one with the Boker Exskeliburs. They are actually built quite well. I bought a couple of those as well as a large and small Exskelimoor with Bog Oak scales, but now I definitely want a LEXK from Trevor with Carbon Fiber scales. It's one of those cases where the production version really got me wanting the custom version.

Now I see that Tactical though and I can't decide which one I should look in to.

vaaloewer, if you had to choose one or the other, which would it be?

Key on the Bokers is to immediately swap the clip to tip up because at tip down that thumb ramp (opening) jimping chews your hand to pieces if you carry in the right front hip pocket and have to reach in for anything else.

Other than that, it's a sweet blade and after the tip up swap even sweeter

For now definitely the EXK or LEXK, although the Tactical has served me well and has definitely been my favorite, but I wanted something easier to sharpen etc.

As far as I know the tactical is not one of his main lines or maybe not one that is offered, I just happened upon it on my last visit. I suggest contacting Trevor for more details. Yes it is a wave and just too mention I aslo have an Emerson comander that I EDC'ed for nearly a year (and love it), it was a bit too heavy for me and ate my pockets. The Burger on the other hand is light and tuned to perfection, fit and finish is as you would expect, immaculate!
