Check out what I scored today for $10 at Magic Mart...

As you can tell, it's almost dark. But, I had time to take it on a little test run. The factory edge was actually really good. It cuts through weeds with no effort. It also went through a thumb thich branch really easily. The handle could use some work, but I put the inner tube on to enhance grip until I can get some better grip material. Overall, I'm really pleased with it! Plus, I love the orange color.

It didnt come with a sheath, but I've seen where you can order some pretty cool looking nylon ones that have pouches on them. I'll be ordering one of those, shortly.

Good score! How thick are those Marbles machetes?

To be honest, I'm not really sure. It's thin, in typical machete fashion. These are made by Imacasa/Condor for Marbles, so they are supposed to be pretty good. Carbon steel! :D

around 2.5 mm if that helps :)
The handle does need some work on all of those, but it only takes a brief minute at the belt sander. I actually kept one normal to condition the blister. Spen from JRE had one at PWYP that was tuned up on the handle and terrific!

Well, now I just need a belt sander... :p

I don't have my stuff set up yet down here, but you are welcome to use it when you do! Just bring some moola if you clog one of my belts >:)

The Marble's pieces are made by Imacasa if I recall correctly, so while the handle may need some work the blade should be great! Nice score!

Looks like a bicycle inner tube on the handle, right? They don't seem very expensive. If Condor, or the same company that makes them for Condor makes the Marbles , is the steel the same? If so, this would be quite the find. The only Condor I have had in my hands was razor sharp and good quality.

Condor is sort of the deluxe line put out by Imacasa. The Marbles pieces are more day-to-day grade shall we say. Still great blades to be sure, just not quite as finely tuned as the Condor line. If they're carbon then they're either 1075 or 1095. The nylon sheaths (as opposed to leather) also cut down on the cost. :)

I thought the name was a reference to another store as well, but upon a quick google search, I found out that we have one not 5 minutes away from my office. I've lived in this town for 26 years....who knew? I know where I'm going after work!

I looked for one at SMKW when I was there, but did not find one. I am going to order one on my next purchase from their online site. ;)

Nice score, Lee. That thing must look like a lightsabre when your swinging it around?

When I saw the title "New Bush Toy" I wasn't sure if I was going to see some blade when I opened the thread or something flesh colored that ran off batteries;):D:cool:
