Hello Folks,

I received this Bushcrafter on Saturday (4/14). This is my first Fiddleback knife and I couldn't be more pleased. Outstanding work Andy...really! The handle is a dream fit to my hand. The Bushcrafter is wearing green burlap with nat can liners and a white stripe and was offered in the thread "Batch Available for 3/30/12." I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Sincerely,
Mark

Thank you TPVT. Now I need to get her in the field for some character building (patina that is)!

I remember when you picked this one out. Really nice shots of it! I love that handle, and the spalting is beautiful on this one. These Bushies are really starting to grow on me, that handle just looks unbelievably comfortable.

Thank you mistwalker. The 3D spalting is really something to behold. I've never had a knife quite like it. The ergonomics of the handle are simply spot on. I have heard a lot about Andy's handles and how they fit the hand perfectly...and now I can attest to that as well. To boot...the knife simply pleases my eyes. She is a real looker. I am well pleased indeed.

Sincerely,
Mark

Nice.. the bushcrafter is definitely in my next list, just gotta wait till the correct combo of materials come around in Andy's batch. Btw, yours is a convex grind right? Why is there are secondary bevel on it and is the bevel convexed?

Beautiful knife i'm Fiddleback less as of yet but i'm working on it. Congrats nice score and great pics.

Hi arislan. As far as I know it a convex sabregrind and it does have a secondary micro-bevel. From what I have read elsewhere on this forum, Andy puts a secondary micro-bevel on this grind configuration.

This is my first FB so I am new at this myself and may be wrong about the secondary micro-bevel being intentional. If Andy or others are reading this and find this the case...please correct me.

Hi d762nato, Thank you kindly. It sounds like you are committed to getting a FB and I hope you do. Quality work for sure.

Thats a lovely knife! :) Aren't the handles so comfy? Enjoy the sheath.

Thank you Heber. Yes those handles are super comfortable. The sheath is awesome and compliments the knife very well.

Sincerely,
Mark

The grind is convex as is the microbevel. This makes the edge tougher and easier to sharpen.

Thank you Andy for your insight. I appreciate your time and expertise.

Mark

Man, I really like that. As I said before, the burlaps never appealed to me at all but they have made think twice. I'll be getting one before long.

I was kind of like you in that the burlaps didn't appeal to me. But what Andy did with them made me do a double take! :joyous:
