Hi there I just traded a couple of highend longbows for a few knives.

In doing the trade I came away with two Busse knives. I was told one is a "Gamewarden" and the other is an "Active Duty". I dont know any thing about these knives and had a few questions:

1) What kind of tasks are these knives designed for? Hunting, bushcraft, defence, ect?

2) What is the value of these knives.......in their current condition and new?

3) Can these be sent back to Busse to be refurbished (Kinda like the Bark River "Spa" for those of you familiar with BRKT)? If yes what is the cost?

4) Any other info on the knives would be cool!

Thanks

To get a simple accurate gauge- simply Google Busse +"name of knife-Active Duty or Game Warden" for example and you will see tons and tons of old auctions and even recent ones listed throughout the years in addition to reviews and vid reviews, etc. You can get a little more specific, but thats all you need to do to guage the prices. That should give you a good indication... but as many will tell you here- Busse makes some of the finest knives on planet earth. There is also the exchange on this forum and look specifically for the sub-forum listed: Busse/Swamp Rat/Scrap yard - There also you will see your knives listed and that's where I would sell them if I were listing them.

Like Trukreltrog explained one of those knifes has most likely gone BAD. I don't think you'll get money for it anymore. Just send it to me. I'll cover the shipping ;) :D

What is the difference between the BAD and the AD? Which one is it?

Also what about this question?

3) Can these be sent back to Busse to be refurbished (Kinda like the Bark River "Spa" for those of you familiar with BRKT)? If yes what is the cost?

Thanks

Yes, they can be sent in to Busse. 419 923 6471

THe bad is for boney and its .125 thin with a higher rockwell hardness of 62. THe regular AD is close to .187 coated and a little softer 58-60 I believe.

Also, they are both more hunting knives IMO but anything with a good edge can be used for self defense;)

Welcome to the Madness!

I'd say that both in used condition with sheaths as pictured would be worth ~$500.00 total.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm glad these are more hunting style knives. That is what I use most of my knives for.

Never needed a knife for self defence yet...... :D

Just curious. What is the hole in front of the handle for?

Thanks

Tenbrook

The "talon hole" is patented/trademarked by Busse I believe. I've seen many attach a d-guard to the holes. It definately ups the already extreme badass factor. Nice score too by the way. The BAD is one of my favorites for sure and is a very versatile blade. Enjoy!

Nice. I have a BAD that gets carried every day. It makes a great slicer. Very pointy, and thin.

I also carried a GW for about 2 years or so. It is a great pocket edc as well.

Welcome to the club!

The Lamey's are beauts too!
