Today I recived a Basic9 and a Pauls Hatchet.
Can anyone give me some info on the basic line? It looks and feels like it wants to go camping ;) My hatchet has ? greay micarta scales, it's pristine but I don't think it will have the chopping power of the 9. So I'll try to trade for another user. I just can't have such a badass knife and not use it :D

Bob,

The Basics are great knives! The performance of the Modified-INFI in the Basics is close to regular INFI. If I remember correctly, Cobalt is the only element used in INFI that is not in M-INFI. One feature that might not be readily apparent from photos is the handle on the Basic 3 & 5 is smaller than the handle on the Basic 7 & 9; the smaller handle is 3/4" shorter and not as big around as the larger handle. Enjoy your Basic 9 - it is a nice knife!

Mike,

No, I have not moved - it's nice being close to the supply of INFI! ;) :D There are a couple of the guys in the forum that live around Indy. I had hoped to attend the last Indy show, but there has been too much to do at home lately. :grumpy: I do want to go to a show fairly soon, so I can see the new Busse models (and maybe a Rat or two)!

I now have a BA3, Basic9, and the newst Natural Outlaw. The PH didn't feel good to me and I bet the Basic9 will out chop it. So I traded the PH for the NO. So the addiction grows.
Peace
