This a new design, called the Cadet. It a 5" blade recurve O-1 blade that will be made for hard use, after following the Austempering thread I believe I will be using that heat treat for this knife. ( after extensive testing though ) The handle material is canvas micarta, and is made to be removable for ease of cleaning. The butt is also hardened in this model for hammering on, there is also a three way flat blade screwdriver built into the butt ( right by the thong hole )
The knife is specifically designed for the Cadets in the US military academy, and if they like it enough, the whole company may carry one!
Very cool! But I must get the heat treat to where I`m satisfied, oh and by the way this is the knife designed I drove through the bolts and 1/8" steel.

Nice straight forward simple design, Ron. I like it, and the boys that get to use it will to, I'm sure.

Really nice and clean design. I like the subtle recurve and the overall lines are excellent. See you next weekend.

It is a nice design.

Keith, I`ll be there on thursday afternoon if everything goes as planned, I gotta get used to his equipment, and he wants me to do it on the hydraulic press...I`ve never done an integral in a press, shouldn`t be hard at all, I image I`ll be spoiled after that!

Another one that works hard ... I like the fact there are a lot of interesting things happening on this clean design. The handle also reminds me of my goo dold 1911 handle. Good job. Jason.

Very nice design - nothing more there than what needs to be.

Cheers,

Roger

Ron,
Very nice work! I just looked at your website and all your knives are nice - clean lines, good colours, functional geometries....
How much does a "cadet" run for?

Thanks again guys. I`m not sure if I should talk money on here, some may consider it as selling. Send me an e-mail if you are interested, it isn`t nearly as much as you would think.
