I don't know WTF those things are but I think I'd rather see Dave in the panties!

The girl in the pictures seem unimpressed. It looks like the "I can't believe you bought another knife" look. :)

I've become a camera snob! I saw the pics and "camera phone" popped into my head. Must be the site compression or something.
Really cool shots, I like the turtle camper!

what brand/model of camera is it? the camera's image sensor, lighting and the most overlooked one is composition plays a bigger role in the image quality than megapixel alone. good thing is you have some awesome looking subjects to practice on  i'm not into dolls myself but you're still not as freaky as cricketdave :D

With the flash off the automatic setting on the camera are probably cracking the iso really high in the low light. This leads to grainy photos. Flood the subject with light, and manually set the white balance depending on type of light used. It'll help get crisp shots without the burned look of the inboard flash. Also, you can cover the flash with a tissue or varying thicknesses of paper to difuse it some and get less of a burned look

Cannon powershot A580

that should have scene modes and one of them will be an indoor mode. different brands call it different names though. another thing is to look in the manual for something like "shutter priority" mode. it's one step above full manual control since it lets you experiment with different shutter speeds while letting the camera adjust the aperture to match. with longer shutter speeds and a tripod, the indoor pics should improve.

Great photos. The toys are kinda trippy, but I have to admit I like 'em on some twisted level. :D

Thanks for having fun with it, tuffthumbz, nice.
FWIW I've saved the turtle camper pic in my file of internet pics that must be saved.

twisted...now that you mentioned it i can see a tim burton-like feel to the characters in his interpretation of children's books & characters. even without the knives, they're interesting enough to experiment with

nice. sam flores vinyl figures?

also nice pics, good quality. the izula and hest are the perfect pair.

The Canon A580, like most Canons, has the indoor mode. Try that or if you're shooting close up try the macro mode. You can also try also adjusting the white balance to either Incandescent or Fluorescent if the AWB (Auto White Balance) still has the color looking off.
Don't worry, 8MP is more than enough for web posting, actually it's probably too big and you'll need to downsize the images (usually better to do this before you upload them to your image hosting site as they're smaller files and upload much quicker).
