Santa brought me a really cool camera for Christmas. It is an Olympus C-5050Z 5 megapixel set up.

It has outstanding close up capabilities, and most impressive to me is the low light shooting ability.

This shot itself is not real exciting, but the fact that the camera shot it so well is exciting to me.

This is the Buck emblem on thier anniversary 110. It is inlaid in the handle, and is quite a bit small than a dime. It was shot at a distance of about 1" in the "super macro mode" and more importantly in low light. Exposure time was about 4 - 5 seconds.

The actual size of this particular photo after cropping it was 903x893, but Yahoo's free hosting only displays 400 wide maximum.

Thanks much Gary, very kind of you!

I dont know what the deal is, Yahoo until recently allowed sharing the photos outside of their site.

I had not been to my site in a while, and I know that you have to select if they can be shared or not. Maybe I just need to redo that part, although I think I forgot how.

Anyways, I sent the pic to you. Once again, thanks very much.

Had to reduce the image SIZE to fit in BladeForums uploading rules of conduct, but the image is quite nice and detailed! I'll certainly be looking at that camera!

Roger,

Nice picture and I think a good choice of camera. I've been looking myself and the Olympus C4040 was recommened to me by a guy that is very knowledgable. Told me it was very user friendly. Your
C5050 is the next better camera, I'm jealous!

Happy New Year,
Win

Uh oh... NOW I see trouble ahead!!! ;)

Great clarity, Richard! You are going to have fun with this one. Good choice!

Richard--Yahoo has done it again. They have stopped links and did not tell anyone. I experienced the same as you and they refuse to say when this poliy took place and why but just that one can't link except via their hosts or something like that.

I have had some help from Robert (Reiki) on how to put pix on my own webspace and that is ok but because of my #'s I'd need to open up more than one email account to get more space. They allow 7 email accounts with 10 MB of space each. I have another account for my EBay stuff and just finished putting up my images on the Epson site which does NOT allow linking either but no limit to space or images. The don't have sub directories though.

There are a couple places like Fotango that allow linking but do put a logo on top.

Then again, one can pay for space but that is too easy lol.

Of all the pay sites, I'd say that Fototime is the best for the most space for the least $.

Another problem I ran into with Yahoo is that new images uploaded did not create thumbnails and they are supposed to check that out but I have not heard anything yet.

Sounds like agreat camera and i'm sure you will have fun. Heck the Nikon 4300 is now about $140 Can. below what I paid for the Nikon 995. Nope I'm not upgrading. the 995 works just fine for me.

Nice pic, Richard--that's the same camera that I've been saving up for and one of the reasons was for macro stuff and low light situations. Now that you've confirmed for me that it does what I want, it looks like I'd better start saving quicker.

That is a nice picture Rich.., and thanks for the help Gary :)

Great camera!
