Just finished this for a guy,

it's my version of the camp knife, still gotta make some pants for it, they'll be like the sheath below but bigger, and neater :) The leather survival rig. Firesteel loop, bic lighter, small tin of bits and bobs and room to wrap cord.

Specs

6" blade
11" overall
0.25" thick O-1 drop point with a swedge
welded pommel
stainless pins and tube
scales are timber someone gave me, some Australian hardwood.

What do you think.

cheers for the comments guys, should of put that in. Rc 58 - 59 done by hills heat treatment in melbourne. The guy that's getting it tell's me he's gunna give it a workout, which makes of happy. The white one is one i made for me. It's a true scandi based on the basic bushcraft style. The handle is corian.

Looks excellent. Did you ever start selling those corian handled blades like in your second pic?

Very nice. I'm not usually crazy about swedges, but I like clip points and tapering to the point. However, I recognize swedges are often used for pig stickers etc. Was that the intention on this one? Handle looks super comfortable and very nicely finished. I like the butt plate - nice touch.

Thanks for the replies guys I'm still finding my feet with this knifemaking gig. All comments welcome, changes, mods, ideas, bring it on.

Rocky, The top photo is the first "sold knife" I've made, but I'm trying to get some designs right to put out there. I'm thinking a bushcraft scandi, a camp, a three finger pocket/necker, and a hunter, maybe based on a smaller camp. I also need to find a source of offcut corian ;).
I'm still working on my skills and working out materials, processes etc. I'll be changing avatar colors soon.
KGD the swedge is just there to thin the tip and make it a little less "big" that 0.25" is meaty stuff, I also thought it needed a little swedge to lighten the look.

Great looking knife/sheath combo. The rig screams "use me or I'm running away"....very nice work!!

Very nice knife, I like it!

That's really nice. Is that a second pocket on the bottom of the sheath? For the Bic maybe?
My Corian came from a local cabinet maker who seemed to have quite an array of pieces that were too small for him, but too large to discard. The handles on my new knife came from a sink cut out(white) and a backsplash(red burl). By the way, would you mind if I hijacked your sheath design?

Thanks for all the comments guys, the sheathmaking does my head in. I was so relieved when it all fitted together.
The little bulge in the tip is for a mini bic and you can store quite a bit of cordage between that and the tin and still access both.

Now that's a sweet blade, great work. The white corian is a good looking material, but heavy.

I'm cool about the sheath design, hijack away. Feel free to ask any questions on how I put the sheath together.

That blade looks like Gayle Bradleys Beaver Creek Cutter design...I just made one with Gayles template he gave me with horse matt handles....It pretty much looks exactly like Gayles. The only differeance was that I used pre 1980's 5160 differentially heat treated instead of M-4 like he does....You blade design is good. Might I make a couple recommendations with your sheath handle? If thats ok...Other than that you seem to be on the right path for superior blade designs.....Peace..Jeff
