It's a nice looking knife and I hope you don't mind this. Would someone tell me what makes up a camp knife? I'm serious, when a maker designs a "camp knife" what is he trying to come up with. May be if I pulled my head out from behind a camera a little more I would have a better idea.
This is my take on it. Remember, this is just my view.
A larger, heaver blade. Little or no guard. Normally a clip point bowie, but other blades style work (drop point, spear point etc). It normally should have a more traditional look about it. No carbon fiber, black ti or other coatings. Though I guess that micarta has been around long enough that it is OK.
Used for setting up a base camp and for general chores once camp is set. Normally would not be carried into the field on day trips from base camp. Used for light chopping, cooking, rope work, or any other misc. cutting tasks around camp.
