Here is one I just made. Big ole thing but but it feels great in the hand :) I used a Bill Moran influenced shape for the handle and it has enough drop to it to give some mechanical advantage to chopping. I used Coyote Brown G10 for the scales and 1/4in thick 5160 for the blade. Overall it is 15 3/4in long. The blade is 10 1/8in long tip to handle and it is 1 3/4in at it's widest point. Can't wait to get to the woods with it. When I was testing it out in the shop it was cutting huge chunks out of my tester 4X4! It moves fast and with a lot of authority :D

oh thats very cool!

you gonna use kydex or leather for the sheath?

I can see that knife doing very well in our forests up here in BC......

hmmmm.....i may have to treat myself when i get a new job....... :)

That is not a 10 1/8" Blade

Better send it to me for a second opinion!!!!

:)

Man--I LOVE THAT HANDLE!!!!!!!!!!

Jeez Bill, little thing like that, when did you start making pocket knives?:D:D:D

I like it:thumbup: It's a got a little more 'elagant' look than normal!

I like the plain, straightforward, functional look of this chopper. It doesn't look like an ornament, more like a tool for cutting stuff. But it does need to get out into the field and get dirty doing some real work (kind of like my own knives TBH).

Great job Bill, …looks like a real work horse.

Bill Moran was way ahead of his time in terms of ergonomic design,

… the Moran style handle is a marvel in use,

…I’m surprised more maker’s don’t employ it.
