New camp knife

Hey guys. So Santa, AKA Ma and Pa, gave me some money for Christmas and I'm looking to buy a new camp knife with it. Do guys have any recommendations?

Here are the requirements:
- Carbon steel
- In the 8" range, bigger is better for me
- Somewheres around 3/16" thick, again bigger is better :)

Well I just ordered a Jarvenpaa Leuku from Ragnar. 7" blade. Do an internet search on Leuku and you will see plenty of images. That's gonna be by camp knife.
 
Heres another vote for the hudson bay there a good bargain for the money and already come with a convex blade grind and a good sheath.

The Schrade SCHF9 is getting great reviews but is under the 8" blade length requirement. Just a thought.

Yup , BK-9 or if you want micarta handles and a slightly bigger knife that comes with a kydex rig, the Esee Junglas. It costs more, but the whole package is great. Solved all my big knife needs :):thumbup:
 
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm leaning heavily towards the BK9 right now... However, I do like the blade shape of the Ontario SP10 Marine Raider Bowie but is it a hollow or flat ground knife?

You won't regret it. I have one. Make a good camp knife for short money.
What's your price range ? Mine came with the little BK 13 too. Slot in the front of the sheath for it. Handy little thing. Great for opening Beers ! (LOL)

So I've heard. I'm trying to keep it less than $100 but hell, if I can get a $100 knife for $70, then that's just another plus :thumbup:
