Hi folks, I have just noticed that CASE has released some more Barlow patterns. This makes me very nostalgic. When I was a boy, I all wanted was a CASE Barlow (maybe I got that from reading Tom Sawyer?). I did own other brands, and as boys will do when outside (yes that is where we stayed) rough housing, playing sports, etc., I lost a bunch of them. I still have a warm place in my heart for a nice barlow.
I loved the old saw cut brown bone best of all. I do not know why. Now, I like dark red bone just about as well, but I would drool over those saw cut handles like a kid standing in front of a candy counter. Back then, a boy could buy a knife, no questions asked. I would save up my allowance, or yard mowing money, and spend it on a new barlow. My uncles all knew what to get me, and when we would visit my father's family, a new CASE barlow was almost always to be had.
I wonder if these newer CASE barlows are up to the old ones in quality? They sure do look good. I can even get it in CV, like the old days.
