This Case CV Back Pocket with Yellow Delrin scales arrived today.

The knife is 4 5/8" long closed with a 3 1/2" blade. The blade is (to me) reminiscent of a California clip blade and has a pull of 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 and has half-stops. The fit and finish of this knife is very good -- bordering on excellent. The big plus for me for this knife is that the blade is carbon steel --CV.

This knife is very close to GEC's Pattern #23. With the exception of the pinned shield that is standard on GEC knives this Case knife is just as good as anything I've seen come from GEC. The bolsters and scales of the Case knife are thinner, which for my .02¢, makes it a better carrying knife.

EDIT: Below is a picture of a GEC #23 Pattern Yellow Rose Single Blade Trapper. You can see how closely it resembles the Case knife shown above.

That's a great one. Congrats!

Holy mother of god! That looks better than a copperlock! - what use to be my favorite case pattern.
I've been looking for a yellow delrin handle / cv blade, and thought of going with the trapper cause its readily available and the 2 blades sound interesting (one for utitlity, one for food).
But I may have to just get this. I've gotten into smaller slippies lately and dont mind the lack of a lock, and ordered a custom smaller front pocket from a knifemaker I found on this forum. And this blade would be a GREAT larger companion to it.
How do I get this? did you go straight to Case? Price? or send me an email please.

e-mail sent with purchasing info -- where/price/etc.

Too bad it does not have a lanyard hole, but a great looker.

The end cap (rear bolster) is very flat and it would be quite easy to "carefully" drill a lanyard hole in the bolster. Off set the hole from dead center in the bolster toward the spring side of the bolster and things should go smoothly. If you do drill a hole in the bolster, set it off by chamfering each side of the hole.

Am I imagining it or is that shield upside down?

No, the shield is not on upside down.

Not really. I've got a Chestnut Bone/CV on the way, barehead with lanyard hole.

That could rival the hollowed Sodbuster as the "go-to" working man's slipjoint. Excellent design.

Here in Germany (perhaps in whole Europe), we can´t buy the Back Pocket in CV! That´s a pitty!

Great knives, by the way!

I hope, we would be able to buy these knives here at any time.

Greetz from Bavaria!
