He just put up a video of a test with a good edge (17*) on a Recon 1 in S35...it was, mediocre.

It posted the highest cut # of any knife in S35 he has tested BUT came in almost 40% behind XHP. Still good results, but a definite step back it seems. Surprising given the high quantity of Vanadium carbides in S35 vs little in XHP.

I wish CS would keep an xhp option for a few blades. I think they re losing their edge on the competition. S35 vn isn t quite as special.

This is old news and already a thread on it two months ago.

I m hoping , with enough clamor, Cold Steel will listen to their fan base and retain some xhp blades.
Is this a lost cause?

They can't source enough xhp from what they've said. Who knows, it could change in the future. Hopefully they are constantly searching for supplies and provide it again when they can.

True, but they might be able to source it for a few of their most popular models.
Interesting, I see an 'old model' Recon 1 on Amazon in CTS-XHP for $130 a 'new model' in CPM-S35VN for $90 (price and demand?).
