I just got a couple of these in the mail. Actually, I got four but that's another story. They are pretty nice but I'm still wondering why the Buck site and catalog shows the knife in a different configuration. I guess I should ask Joe. The model number and catalog number is the same.

Dave, the colors in your pics bring to mind a Christmas theme. With that in mind...

Off topic: check your spam folder, you've got mail/key

That's a pretty sweet 110. Are they avaliable now to the general public?
Jim

Those are nice, I like the blue shield with it. Waiting for em to show up on the prosite.

Looks like they flipped the scales from what the site is showing, signature on the right instead of the left. Didn't know it came with the Buck shield but IIRC my Chariman 301 did too so I guess that was a given. Any other differences between the production model and the website photo? I still want one as soon as they become available on the site.

I've only seen them on eBay so far.

No other differences that I can see. The shields on the slippies are new for 2011. My 301 and 301 single blade buildout from 2010 don't have shields.

I'll have to check my 301 again. I couldn't remember for sure if it had it or not? Got it last year.

Dave is that buffing compound on the rivets and the rocker bar release?

I've never received a Buck knife without buffing compound. I use high test and low water content alcohol to wash the knife. Then I use food grade mineral oil to lubricate the moving parts. Reminds me, I'm out of alcohol & gotta go shopping.

I ordered some of the 300 series 'Chairman' and they did not have the shield or compound. Ready to go right out of the box. The shield as Dave pointed out must be new for this year. DM

Great looking knife, it just went to the top of my Most Wanted list.

I love that Cherry dymondwood I thinks it's a very durable yet atractive handle material.

Very nice Dave! I've been looking at those for some time;) thanks for the photo's.

I think that is Dave's reflection in the scale pins:)
