Outstanding Eric!!!!!
I'm with Keith, the antiqued blade is great and the fiddle back maple is really nice.

Stumpy, the Rosewood hunter is about 4.5" long in the blade, flat ground from 440C with a satin finish. Professional heat treat. The rosewood is from Madagascar. It has a steel outer mosaic pin in the center, and the pins are 416. The thong hole tube is 303.

Thanks for your comments, guys!

I like 'em all, but my fave is the antiqued model. What did you use for steel? And how did you get the patina? It wasn't anything you collected in your UDT days was it?;)

Richard, first I soaked squirted lime juice all over it. Then rinsed that off, then I stabbed it into a jar of sandwich spread. And then I did three coats of gun blue paste. :) And nope, nothing from my Urine Disposal Team (UDT) days. :) The steel is 1095.

I'm going to start making more of them out of Micarta actually, because I want to move on to a machine satin/brushed finish, which doesn't look as good with wood. Also, its a more durable material. I expect to make a few more of the Tactical Chang's on my webpage, only with ATS-34 and a vertical satin finish.
