My new 21" Chitlangi by Sher arrived today and all I can say is wow, 21" is big. This piece is awesome. The dui fullers are beautiful, and the blade came quite sharp. When I saw the picture on the 1/18 DOD, I thought it looked great and in the hand, it is even more beautiful. Sadly, I burned the last of my firewood last night so I've nothing to chop. Maybe I'll butter some toast later.

Pics or banned!

I realize the pics are on the 1/18 DOTD, but a thread bragging about your knife needs pictures.

Okay, as soon as my wife leaves, I'll shoot some pics but be forewarned: Looking at my pictures may cause permanent blindness, sterility or both.

just make sure you're wearing clothes when photographing a mirror finish knife. Please no eBay slips here.:barf:

LOL!!! j/k :D  sweet pics willieboy... thanks for sharing
great collection you got going there... how does it feel to finally handle a larger HI khuk?
now all you need is a good solid chopper/camp knife ;)

Jai, for whatever reason, it's hard for me, when I see the size of something in a picture, even when I know the dimensions, to really understand how large or small something will be. To answer your question, the new Chitlangi seems enormous in my hand. As a two handed weapon, it would be impressive I'm sure. However, I have no illusions about using a kuk as a weapon. I'm just fascinated at the beautiful work a man can produce, squatting on a dirt floor with a match, a pile of charcoal, a hammer and an old leaf spring. The historical aspects of of the Kukuri is also of interest to me.

I think the Chitlangi design is just beautiful with its two fullers, slim, flowing blade and beautiful handle. It's really elegant, if "elegant" is a word that can be used to describe a weapon/tool. As executed by Sher, the Chitlangi is a work of art.

Many thanks to Yangdu and Sher.

I have a WWII, MkIII on order and it should be a fairly effective chopper.

Nice looking kuk you picked up Wille. I really enjoyed my 21" chitlangi. I regret letting it go, really nice handling.
