New Chive - hard to open

One my third Chive (lost the first two). This one does not want to snap open unless I really back off on the screw. Is there a way to increase the spring tension or do I need to tear it down and do some polishing?

If you cant get it to open more quickly by adjusting the pivot tension then yes id pull it apart and do some polishing. On many knives ive polished the washers using just my strop and put a small amount of CLP on it and its made a worlx of difference.
