New chores for your old friends?

I was just getting ready to relax and enjoy the weekend when I used my little coyote for a task I now normally do! Somewhere along the way I made up this new knife task to subconsciously give myself a reason to use my knife. Now, a beer box never looks right unless I cleanly remove the upper corner to aid in beverage removal and retain the rest in their place.

Does anyone else have tasks like this they created to give purpose to their traditional pocket knives? Do you have a particular blade shape/size or a certain knife specific to a certain chore? For my box top removal, I prefer a smaller or secondary blade to aid in maneuvering and less likely to poke a can. Guess I have made a sort of game of it.

Not really but I eat more apples and I don't use my teeth to cut fishing line anymore .

Not really assigned cutting task, more assigned roles really. The Farmer is in my daughter's medical bag 24/7. We have to carry the bag everywhere we go so the knife certainly is my most carried pocket knife. Thanks again Paul, Adalynn still calls it her knife. :)

The 77 Forums knife is my carry to St. Jude. It has been with me to every visit and every ER trip. It's a great cutter and I love it, but it has become more of a worry stone and somewhat of a meditation prayer stone in a way. Sorry for the old pic.

I havn't outright made up any new jobs yet, but lately I've found myself reaching in my pocket instead of the silverware drawer for small/quick kitchen jobs like slicing a tomato or a peach, and it's also become my staple puller.

It's amazing how a blade that thick with such a steep grind can slice as well as it does. Hollow grind ftw! If only it wasn't Chinese 440A and could hold an edge longer than I can hold a dollar
