So I was reading in another forum on Blade that true knife people can appreciate old classics such as Victorinox and Buck. Always being one to want the newest, I realized that this was indeed true and that I savored for a classic knife that my Father's father might have carried. So today I took a stroll to BassPro and picked up a Buck 110 and a Buck Ranger with finger grooves. I have to say that these are awesome, beefy knives. They will be inserted into my EDC rotation, as well as my camping and hiking rotation. Holding these, especially the 110, makes one feel a tie with the past, when men were allowed to be men. Everyman should have one of these, to hand down from to younger generations. My brother is about to go off to college, and I think that I might have to get him one of these fine classic knives.
Pics to come.

hi polar !
welcome to the buck forum!
it would have been nice to have gotten a knife from my father
but he was not a knife type of guy at all..
i bought my self a buck 110 in 67 and still use one
as to classic
the 110 it was not classic when it come out !
it was a new unique knife when it come out..
but it was designed by thoes who used old fashon knolage and style
to create a knife that looked classic when new..
this dont happen often
so NO one should hold with not trying Bucks new style knives
they may become classics in our life time!

Good on you! They are true American classics! Hope they serve you well for decades to come. Have you been to the Custom Shop on their website yet? That opens up many more variables. You just missed the Custom Shop 112 project.

There are also many Limited Editions out which you may like. Big fan of stag and horn myself.

Do the finger grooves fit your hand well? Many like them. My big fat hand just doesn't work in them but that's me.

I'm lucky in that I have a few Bucks that my Father passed to me.

Also, was just able to pick one up from the year I graduated high school which was neat. Now trying to find a nice user from my wedding year.

(Yes, those events happened for me after the date codes started. You old codgers need not harass me! :D )
