New coatings?

OK I need to verify, in writing, that the beckers are getting a new coating. I talked to a dealer which will remain nameless, and asked if they had new stock yet with new coatings and etches. They responded with asking me where I heard that info. To which I explained our little campfire. They respond with they will look into it. They just got back to me and said the Kabar rep said the coatings will not be changing but the logos will be etched from now on and will only be available after all old stock has been depleted. So mods, Ethan, toooj, what's the real answer? They are getting a new coating right? Does that include the little ones too, the neckers 11 and 14 and the tweeners? I cant get a new gen until all the old ones are gone? I'm confused and saddened

Luckily my next Becker will be a bk16. But I was waiting to get a 9 until the new coatings. But I am thinking of going with the junglas now for my chopper now. I love drop points.

Back on topic, when I emailed a certain vendor a few weeks ago (probably same one as you), they had no idea what I was talking about. Baldite, errrrrrr, bladite assured me they were confused. and the catalog shows them with new coatings too.

And I find it a little strange that you want to keep the coating.

They're definitely getting new coatings. The little ones too. Just take a look at the 2012 Ka-Bar catalog. You can tell just by looking at the pics.

O ill admire the new coating for a minute or two. Then I wanna etch in the laser logos and strip it. I really want another bk5 with the different coating tho. Just to have it.

They are getting new coatings, my info came from the people that call themselves "President" "CMO" "Senior Design Engineer" "Marketing Director", basically the folks that run Kabar.

Remember, I spent a week talking/teaching at the Kabar booth at SHOT show.

They are getting new coatings, promise.
