I know someone said it in another thread - calling the knife a "Unit", by the new spokesperson for CS - makes me feel there is no love for the knife / product / Cold Steel lineup. It's just a Unit / SKU that the company is selling. Nothing else matters to the company. Fans / collectors - only matter if they are buying the Units. That is how the new spokesperson makes me feel.youtube search beauty and the beast cold steel marauderI approve
But he did call it a "piece" first. Progress?I know someone said it in another thread - calling the knife a "Unit", by the new spokesperson for CS - makes me feel there is no love for the knife / product / Cold Steel lineup. As for the cute girl - great ! IF she is giving more information about the knife. Brains and Beauty is more helpful : )
You know what, mine does to. I was hopeful but now have come to the realization that Iām better off getting the āholy grailā models Iāve always wanted and calling it a day. For me itās literally 2 knives, the standard size Recon 1 in Clip & Spear points. I will keep watching from afar, but the way things are going, it doesnāt look good. Why would you downgrade the bread-and-butter models that make the brand famous? Iāll go now and be grateful that I have my small collection of Cold Steel knives. My life expectancy meter for this company continues to decline.ā¦.

Just to be clear; she would have to wear a bikini on my account. What, no bikini?
Come on Cold Steel, this is the internet, if you want to hold my attention you're gonna need more than a pretty face.
Here's an idea- A hot girl in a bikini is partying on a yacht, she falls overboard (in a bikini), and washes up on the beach of a deserted island (in a bikini). Walking the beach (in a bikini) she finds and old wooden chest half buried in the sand. She opens it (in a bikini), and amongst other sea-fairing junk she finds a Cold Steel bowie. She then proceeds (in a bikini) to use the knife to chop palm fronds, build a shelter, open coconuts, start a fire, etc, etc, (in a bikini). A passing plane spots the smoke from her fire, and she's rescued (in a bikini). All hail the quality of Cold Steel.
I'd watch that video.
Heck, I'm not ashamed to admit it, but I've watched a few videos online just because there were attractive girls in them. And on occasion I've even stopped what I was doing to watch a commercial on tv because there was a particularly attractive girl/woman in it. Combine attractive girls with interesting knives, yeah, I might watch.
And no offense to Mr. Thompson, but if I have a choice between watching a large sweaty guy chop a rope in half, or an attractive girl chop a rope in half, that's an easy choice.
Did I say bikini?

I felt 100% the opposite way. I'm absolutely all in being more inclusive and getting ladies and other underrepresented groups into the fold, but they basically led with the fact that she's pretty. Yes, I think her cutting was well done, and I hope she really enjoys the product, but it smacked more of an eye candy thing than a legitimate inclusion.like i stated in hula's post
i think its a step forward for women's equality
if cold steel made more videos
with a cross section of individuals
representative of real knife using women.
sure a pretty face helps
but it helps marketing more
if future videos get
the message across to
the much neglected female knife market
which frankly could be a great new
marketing addiition as a whole.
i am all for gurl power videos.
I couldn't agree more. If gender is to become their primary market driver, then do it the right way. Put a female VP in charge of product development and have her become the primary spokesperson for the brand. Neither stickman nor the blond add anything to cold steel. They know nothing, have zero control, and it shows. Lyn Thompson's was successful because he had a clear set of values which constantly showed through. We might not have always agreed with him; and some of his ads were over the top, but we respected his vision for his company, and we knew he respected his customers as well. At least he didn't stoop to hiring a clown show to spew nonsense.I felt 100% the opposite way.
