Just when I thought all I would need to satisfy my itch was an arclight and cqb 2 here comes cold steel with Mr. Dawson's spike and an affordable Sog replica now if I could only find some one to make an IWB sheath for the big knife....I must stop this daydreaming. This looks like it is going to be an excellent year for the knife consumer/addict. Hi my name is zxas and I have a Problem.

Oh, that's JUST GREAT!...ANOTHER reason for my wife to be pissed at me.

The new Trapper looked to be a must have. Carbon V & Cold Steel build quality in a traditional pattern. But what is this, faux jigged bone? Forget it. A knife in need of a scale transplant if ever there was one

Ah... perhaps if only those new large fix blades had brass/ steel guards for a few bucks more instead of that useless rubber type...

Yup, I also question their choice of some of the materials used. I'm not a "steel snob" but I would expect to see better than AUS8 in a Ti handled folder w/$200 MSRP.

Um, I agree that Kraton grips ain't all that pretty, but they are h*ll for functional when it's cold, there's animal fat and blood clotted all over the knife after you've cut the entrails free. Nothing IMHO gives a better or more secure grip. Though I do appreciate moose antler, stag, Arctic birch, even stacked leather, brass guards, etc. Looks like I'm going to have to find a place for that new Stockman with Carbon V blades. Maybe a replacement for my old Boker King Kutter that's been honed down to a stub. I was a little disappointed to see AUS8 (albeit an excellent stainless steel, as done by CS) instead of Carbon V in those skinners.

bcaffrey, I agree 100% that Cold Steel needs to upgrade their steel on their folders. With the prices they are charging why not use VG 10, ATS 55, or ATS 34, or AUS 10? No matter they design, the fact is that similar knives have better steel plain and simple.

What's up with Coldsteel's webpage? I 've been trying to take a look at the new models and all I get is a counter and a blank page.

Ray, I'm not certain but I think their new site requires a flash enabled browser.
