This stuff is great...

Haha, I hate their knives, but always have found their videos very entertaining.

Well, at least Lynn said "we don't take ourselves too seriously." Since this stuff is done a little "tongue in cheek", so to speak, it makes it much more palatable, and it appeals to the 14 year old boy in each of us. I dig it. I mean, who among us doesn't like to see chubby guys in super slow motion?

Dear Cold Steel: your next video needs bikini chicks swinging giant knives in slow motion at hanging meat. Seriously. You can call the video Bikini Apocalyse or Beach Party Massacre. Rock on.

Videos like that are exactly the reason why I can't take Cold Steel serious, and why I'll probably never own a CS knife.

You'd never catch Spyderco, Benchmade, or Kershaw releasing a video of a 300 pound guy crammed into a size XL shirt swinging away with a sword.

Boy,id hate to be the one that has to buy all the materials & meats they used in these videos....

I too for most part hate these fucking video's it's like their just trying to market to 7 year olds or aspiring fat ninja's. I'm sure most knives could perform the same things they are doing in these video's or better. And there honestly isn't a whole lot I'm impressed with anyways in the video's. That being said I have more cold steel knives than any other. They make good products weither on the cheap end or higher end prices. Haven't bought anything from them that I didn't think was good. I can see why some people stay away from them cause they do make CS blades look ridiculous in these video's. They should just let the knives speak for themselves from word of mouth and reviews cause these video's just make them look like cheap oversea's made mall ninja kid shit.

These videos crack me up. Nothing like watching a chubby guy with a machete chop shit up. lol It is a stupid marketing ploy but man its like a train wreck I cant stop watching lol.

They're backing up what they say with real life proof...... What other company does this? The benchmade axis lock is praised for being one of the strongest locks on the market. Im not debating that, but where is the proof? While I enjoy some of the finer more refined knives you cannot argue that these knives are tough and represent good value in most cases. I would never consider batoning any benchmade, zero tolerance or spyderco. And I know "you're not supposed to baton with folding knives". I get that, but it does represent the strength of the tool. You spend $60 on a Recon one and it is a stronger knife than any benchmade spyderco or zt (among others) on the market. This cult idea that you have to pay premium prices for premium materials and a name is not applicable for real life use. Sure I love nice knives. I have an umnumzaan, 0620 on pre order, and have and have had others. I love the look and feel of more expensive refined knives but I would trust a Recon 1 over any of them and its sometimes 1/10 of the price. How could you possibly argue that? I know I just focused on their folder line and maybe not as much can be said about their fixed blades but they make value products that just work.Cold Steel simply backs up what they say with real life proof and Thompson's enthusiasm is justified when they make the strongest folder on the market and offer it for under $100 . For the majority of knife users a Cold steel is more than they need at a price they can afford but I guess we're not the majority of knife users, just the snobs of the community.

Lighten up folks. The products are good, prices are fair, videos are entertaining, and actually a lot of the tests are the same ones that "The Almighty Custom Makers" use as well. Like what you like or don't like, you don't have to defend your opinion by putting down others.

P.S. If you(whoever "you" are) hate Cold Steel(and/or Lynn Thompson), with such a vile passion, why are you even in the forum, or watching the video?

I love them for their comedic value. Now I want one of those shovels...

The proof is all over YouTube. Benchmade does testing now too.
There are many, many more. All from Benchmade. Not a 3rd party.

I have one of the CS (Trail Hoss or something) axes, was a father's day gift. I was skeptical at first but it's been very durable. Also have the Trail Hawk, they are so cheap and fun.

Psst. We are in General, not the Cold Steel Forum. You are allowed to hate CS with a vile passion here.
