New Cold Steel Viking Hand Axe Pics & Video

So don't hate on me too bad I am a huge Cold Steel junkie lol. I just got the new Viking Hand Axe in and I'm impressed so far. For a budgeted $35 dollar Bearded axe its not that bad. I mainly got it to mod and play around with. I wouldn't take it out and depend on it too heavily but none the less, its fun and usable as long as you keep yours demands reasonable.

Great pics and vid. Thanks for putting it up. The catalog says it weighs 17.6 ounces. Does that seem about right to you? Any chance you can weigh it?

They must have made it thin to hit that weight. that is less than the spec weight of the Norse hawk!

This is one I am excited for!

Thanks guys! Yeah it is a blast! I have not been able to weigh it but I am pretty sure they are dead on with the weight. Picking it up I'd probably say it is almost pushing 2lbs. None the less it is a blast haha. As far as practical use I'd say it could probably handle light stuff. But with how long that handle is I would bet the bottom part of the beard if struck hard would torque the handle.

Well, I've used a Norse hawk hard. Chopping, and many years of throwing. But that weight is less than the norse, and less than the spike hawk head I put on one of their 30 inch handles. It is half again as light as the Rifleman hawk I've been throwing and using for a decade plus!

Mine is exactly 2 lbs on a postal scale.

17.6 ounces would be 1.1 lbs, catalog weight is way off.

also, not sharp by any definition of the word, and edge is not aligned with haft.

looks cool though....

Well I wanted one. But looks like quality isn't up to CS standers . So I will pass on it for now.

I dunno, that description sounds like it's EXACTLY up to the standards of all the other CS tomahawks. They basically never come sharp, and the catalog weight should have been obvious as a misprint from the get go(it has a 30'' handle, and a head with a 6 inch edge, did people really think this would only weight 1.1 pounds?)
