Can anyone tell me anything about
Michael Connor? I have an art dagger by
him; 11" oal, 6 1/2" ladder pattern
blade, carved ebony w/silver wire wrap
and all damascus fittings, stamped
"CONNOR" one side and MS other side. It
is one of my favorite knives and I can't
find any information or other knives by
this highly talented maker.

Welcome to the Forums. As a new collector I think that you may find this other website helpful, it's called the BAKCA Knifemaker Search. Here is the link, click on Last Name, type in the maker you're looking for (Connor) and press Search. His contact info is there.

I'm sure someone will be along with some first hand info on him.

I can tell you that the MS one the one side means he is a Master Bladesmith according to the American Bladesmith Society

So at the very least you have a great knife by a master craftsman.

Try this info

Connor Michael Box 502;Winters, TX 79567 915-754-5602

Good luck!

Thanks to PhilL and Viper for your assistance. I'm glad to have finally discovered this site as you've already proven to be quite a resource.
By the way, I don't know the rules here, so is it inappropriate for me to ask if the name Phil L stands for who I think it does?
I cannot get used to the idea of conversing with legends (be they knife-makers or COLLECTORS) so easily.

Mike Connor is from Winters, Texas. While being in my estimation, one of the top Mastersmiths in the country, he is a low profile maker. He only makes 4-12 knives a year. Mike is known for his clean yet simple lines that makes his pieces a work of art. When he does go to a show it is the blade show only. You can get his phone number out of the Knife annual 2001. Call him at night as he works days. I know you like your dagger. I have one of Mikes bowie knives in stag and with a silver throat and tip. Very nice piece. Hope this helps.

I doubt it I'm nobody, but the guy who posted right above me is the guy you think he is.

If you don't believe me go back to that BAKCA site and type in the last name Fisk, then click on the link to his website.
Pretty cool huh?

Thanks again to PhilL.
You know who I thought you might be?
Phil Lobred!
Also thanks to Jerry Fisk, who has a knife available at ArizonaCustomKnives that is absolutely masterful! I've been drooling over it for some time, but can't quite afford it.
Living treasure is right!
