It arrived, at last.

I just got my "one previous owner only" Commander. It´s a ´00 model (at least that´s what it says on the blade). No bladeplay in any direction whatsoever. The lock engages just to the left of the centerline. The blade doesn´t rub any liners. It has never been sharpened. The color on some of the smaller screws seems to have been worn off, but that´s normal I understand from doing extensive resarch on this forum. Everything seems great.

BUT then there is that one little thing that worries me:

The original box i received seems to be UNCRUSHED

This can´t be right. I mean the nice, allknowing, humble, noble, and omnipotent (edited out "beatiful" when I saw the pic´s of you - the horror, the horror

) people here referred to as the "usual suspects" must know how to handle a situation like this.

Should I crush the box myself and in the future be addressed to as the "couterfeiter" or loose the box altogether?

Even worse, could this be some "Paki" or Chinese copy made from some old black tefloncoated wok pans?

What should I do

Thanks 2Sharp for getting me hooked on Emersons... maybe.

I dunno Colinz,
You've got a lot going against you.
1 Uncrushed box
2. Actual WORKING liner lock
3.You're happy with it

This has GOT to be some sort of Paki or Chicom ripoff.
Everyone "knows" that EKI knives just aren't any good, right?

The best I can suggest,
(lookin around and checkin' to make sure nobody's reading this)

1. Crush the box
2. Spine whack it until the liner lock is ruined.
3. Try to pass it off as genuine and get your money back out of it.

OR...
I suppose you could hang on to it, and enjoy it for MANY years to come.

I'd probably go that route myself.
YMMV an' all that stuff, ya'know.

It's a fake! It probably IS a cheapy Paki or Chinese copy.

Man I feel bad for ya. Being a kind hearted Usual Suspect that I am. I'll give you $10 out of my OWN pocket for it to help in the fact you've just been had.

Those copies are only worth less than $5 so you've more than doubled your investment!!! Man you drive a hard bargain!

Email me privately and I'll give you my snail mail address on where to send it too

Pay no attention to Rosanghal!

I have read many of his previous posts and am convinced that he is trying to DEFRAUD you out of that knife! It isn't the real thing, but it's worth more than "R" said it was. Maybe I can help you out.

I'll give you $20 for that cheap, Pakistani knock-off.

Somewhere in my head a little voice (not the same that VG hears, mine is more nasal) told me that it was too good to be true. It got louder when I saw the undamaged box. The voice in my head became even louder when the blade locked without any problems. I should have listened to my sheeple friends:

"It is too expensive."

"It looks so dangerous."

"It won´t live up to your expectations."

"You will be sorry when you realize how much hard earned money you spent on that."

- But NOOO. Why listen to your friends. I always have to do the things that I´ve set my mind to do

Combat Knife Extraordinaire

why? Why? WHY? WHYYYYYYY...?

You people at this forum made me do this. I read all those wonderful posts but noone warned me of these copies. At least there is one person ready to take responsibility for his actions:

ROSANGHAL - My email is on the way!

I could do as Ken Cook said and spinewhack it, crush the box and sell it on the forum. Well I ain´t like you "Usual Suspect". Now I know how you people got that name. You are shameless

I will never, ever write on this forum again.

I promise...

Yes, never again.

i'm so ashamed that my Commander Box is "uncrushed" that i hide it in my desk @ work, in it's on separate drawer where it'll never see the light o' day, near, but not 'too' near. my La Griffe, NIB (crushed--well it will be TOMORROW!) "yeah, man--they all come crushed like that, really! u hut!

yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah

The uncrushed box, properly positioned liner-lock and reasonably centered blade does NOT necesarily make this a faux Emerson as some of these have been rumored to have actually made it off the line.

That having been said, you will have to find a way to be satisfied with a rugged knife, of great design and the wonderful "Wave" feature. Assuming the foregoing, you need not resort to the lore of Emerson; the heritage of reputation and presence of reputation.

The functionality and quality of your knife will no doubt diminish, if not remove altogether, the sense of pride in ownership of an inferior final product allowing one to relish the deal with it mentality associated therewith.

Even though your new Emerson will likely perform to and beyond expectations, perhaps you could crush the box (although this is in no way authentic) and flirt with the genre of Emerson.
