Hi all,

Just picked up a Commander this weekend at the Gun and Knife show in Lakewood.
All I can say is "Man, is this knife ever sweet!!"

I never thought I would get my hands on one but now...I am ecstatic...
I even found one with the Chromium coating...very nice indeed.
Don't get me wrong, I like the other styles and would have been just as happy with any, but this one kicks serious buttocks.

So my question is: Are these that hard to find(specifically the CN coated ones)? Is the coating durable, and do these jeans make me look fat

I plan to use mine and use it well, hell I have even blooded it already(quite accidentally you know, but those serrations are hella-sharp), Now "we" are 'ONE'
Anyway, I am now a true Emerson fan as I can appreciate his work up close and personal and now I want MORE....

Easiest way to tell a CN Commander is by it's markings. "CN" is prominently displayed as part of the serial number.

HC LEO,

You are correct, this is of the Satin Finish variety.
So this means it is "Hard Chromed" then and not CN coated. Is there really a big difference?
I like this knife alot(it has become my primary carry and plans to stay there for a while),I plan to strip it, buff out the liners a bit and even out the scales to match up with the liners. Wish I knew how to "jewel" the liners. The one in the thread you lead me too looks very sweet.
One problem I do have is that two of the screws holding the scales on are just a bit short(and let me say that they are not actually long enough to reach the liner so are not secure)

...anyone know where I can get a few "longer" replacements?

Thanks for your responses.

Yea..I also noticed the screws seemed a bit...'short'...or 'small' for a tactical folder!

Tell us more about the CN Commander...dates made, serial number quantity, CN material durability..etc

Just a quick follow-up.
I finally got a chance to take it apart and smooth out the liners a bit. I got a chance to see how these things were built and I must say I am quite impressed.
I used some of the CRK teflon grease on the washers and pivot and it is so smooth it is scary

.
This is definately a "keeper".

Peace,
