I received my new Commander yesterday (black blade, no serrations) and it's a keeper. I really like this knife. It flicks open easily and fits my hand perfectly. It's going to replace my CQC7, at least part of the time.

Ed, I'm curious. Does the liner lock up dead center on the blade, or to the left or right? I'm assuming there's no blade "wobble", or any other QC problems. How do you like the Wave feature? And welcome to the Forums!
Paul

Paul - the blade locks up just a little to the right usually. Not enough to be a concern. I'm left handed and still getting used to the Wave feature, but lord it's fast. It takes some practice though. It also opens with a flick of the wrist easier than any knife I've ever had, including the AFCK. It is very smooth and there's no blade wobble.

In contrast, I have a Benchmade 710 axis lock that I like a lot, but it's not nearly as smooth. I loosened it a little (had to buy a damn torx wrench) and it started to wobble. I assume this is just a feature of the axis lock?

Congrats Ed,
I bought my Commander about two weeks ago and it is the smoothest opening of my Emersons. I noticed there is a concern about where the liner locks up. Mine locks up on the left side. Feels pretty solid. Should I be worried? Anyway, this knife is so sweet there is no way I'm complaining. Happy cutting with your new knife.

Magilla

Follow-up to my first post: after 2 weeks of flicking and waving, the screw loosened up and the blade was wobbling some. I tightened it back up after applying Loctite. We'll see how it goes. I still love the knife. It's my favorite carry knife.
