New Computer on its way!

Well I finally broke down tonight and bought a new computer. It should be shipped soon and I should be enjoying it within a couple of weeks.

My current computer right now is a Pentium III - 700MHz that I bought about six years ago! I'm a computer tech in my day job (soon to be a part time one with more knifemaking going on) and hated to buy another computer but the day had finally come.

Bought a Pentium 4 - Dual 3.2GHz that is loaded. Will be smokin fast! :eek:

Sad, isnt it? My wife was an editor at Byte magazine for years. BYTE! Byte of all things, and up until their demise a few years ago, some of them were still using DOS machines. Sad irony.

Its kind of like you should really be suspicious about buying a car that a mechanic owns, because since he turns wrenches for a living, it could be possible that his car always gets the last priority. Kind of like the guy who works at a car wash having the dirtiest car in town.

Congrats. If you're like me, you won't get anything done for about 2 weeks after you get it -- you'll be too busy installing, tweaking and playing. The only thing that turns my crank as hard as a good knife is a good computer.
 
Your wife used to work for BYTE magazine! I used to read that all the time when I was in university.

Ya my own computer is always in the worst shape of all the computers I use, never updated.

Yes I will be playing with it for sure when I finally get it. I'm like a kid when I order something, can't wait for it to arrive!
