Ok. I know I just spent a great deal of time asking about the ETAK. The problem is that there are so many Emersons that I love the looks of. I had every intention of placing my order for an ETAK today but something changed that. I recently had the opportunity to hold a CQC-15 and it felt great in my hand. The blade is just so interesting as well. I couldn't resist. I had to have one. My order for a brand new CQC-15 went in today. I ordered a satin finish plain edge. I am very excited!

I am still in the market for an ETAK, but that may have to wait a bit while I replenish my knife fund. Others on my list are the CQC-7V flipper, and PSARK. Damn you, Ernest Emerson for making so many great knives!:)

I got one on the way too! Decided to hold off on the sheepdog till after I got a 15. I know what your sayin, as soon as I think I know what I'm buying next, I happen across another Emerson and say "Oooooh I never seen THAT one before!" Lol

Congratulations on your 15,, I really like the looks of that blade; I know I will eventually end up with one myself. I have begun selling some CRK blades I have and soon will have more Emersons; I'm with you on the ETAK, that's a really cool knife!

i personally prefer the 15 to the etak.......the etak is darn good, but the 15 feels better in my hand. both are great though. enjoy yours when you get 'er.

I EDC a satin serrated 15 and love that knife. Of all the ones I have, I have to admit it's my favorite. Which is like saying you have a favorite kid, because my Emersons are my favorites of my whole collection.

Looks great, holds great, cuts great, everything. And great choice!

I'm really looking forward to it. It should be in my hands by Friday :)

Good choice. The CQC-15 platform is my fav Emerson model. I carry a mini-15 as my daily user most days. Just does everything well. IMAO it's Emerson's equivalent of the Para 2... EDC perfection.

I dare say there would be a whole lot more Emerson addicts if people could just hold one. Truly a situation where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. In the age of internet shopping so much is lost just looking at specs. I have more Emersons (and other knives for that matter) than I could ever use but a 15 is inevitable I'm sure.

I meant to get a 15, but Super Commander fever took over so I got one of them instead, The 15 is next on my list but then had to go for an ETAK which I should be getting soon. I probably will end up trying every Emerson I can find lol.

The ETAK is next on my list. It was first until it was bumped by the 15. I'll put up pics of the 15 when it comes in.

Congrats on the 15!

Flipper-7s are cool. Handled one not too long ago and felt better than I thought. Just remember that the flipper takes up a fair percentage of the handle when in the open position. If you like having your indexfinger sitting in the relief cut for the lockbar, no problem. One of my friends didn't like the fact that he couldn't get all fingers comfortably on the knife vs the regular 7 he has. I have medium sized hands and it wasn't really a issue for me.

The 15 is my first Emerson. It is great knife. I got a serrated one. It has the most "hydraulic" opening feel of any of my knives--including the Sebenza.

My 15 has arrived! This thing is perfect. The motion is very smooth and the lockup is solid. The blade shape is even more appealing in person than it is in pictures. Well done, Ernest! I threw in a gratuitous picture of my waveless 7 as well :) You can see that the handle of the 15 is not much longer than the 7, but you get so much more blade with the 15!

Congrats! It's interesting to see the Size comparison with the 7. I would have thought the 15's handle would be bigger.

That's what I would have thought, too. By placing the pivot closer to the front of the handle, the extra blade length can easily fit without the need for a longer handle. I wonder if they ever considered moving the pivot closer to the front on the 7's to allow a larger blade?
