I finally recieved my CQC8 set the other day ( serial 0096)and I'm very impressed. The long wait was worth it. Special thanks to John Holister for his help and advice and to TAD for their great service.
The CQC8 is the best Emerson I have owned ( no customs). It seems to be a bit thicker in the handle than my others and the massive G10 spacer makes for a very rigid handle and strong feel. The grind lines on both sides of the blade are spot on and the lock-up is pretty good.
The Surefire torch is fantastic. We're issued with Maglites here at work and these babies leave them for dead. They put out so much light for such a small torch it is amazing. No more Maglites for me. A few of the smartass officers I work with reckon you can't beat a Maglite. After shining the Surefire in their eyes they now have reviewed their opinions somewhat!
All in all this is a great product combination from two 1st class companies. Does anyone know how many sets will be made?
Cheers
Peter
