New CRK!

I have a CRK Green Beret 7. Mi e is a little older in S30V. I don't have an issue with S30V like some others do. The ONLY change I'd make, and its not necessary, is to get rid of the serrations. It shaves like a razor despite it's thickness. Nice knife.

Awesome choice, bear claw! The Pacific is one of CRK's OPK's I've been wanting for a while now. Possibly my favorite OPK.

Come on my grizz comment was a good one..... and no love for it?!?!!?

Like I've said before... tough room.

It'll skin 'em fast as you can find 'em pilgrim! :)

Sorry... OPK = One-Piece Knife. A bit of CRK slang, that's all. :)

Not to hang on details (in this tough room), but generally doesn't OPK refer to the original CRK fixed blades that were made from one peice of round bar (Shadow, Aviator, Mountaineer, Jereboam, Sable, etc)? Technically these were not one peice either as the cap for the handle compartment was separate, but the blade and handle were a single piece of steel. The Pacific has the blade, two Micarta slabs, and six or so fasteners. I think most would refer to the Pacific and Green Beret as "full tang construction" or simply CRK fixed blades.

Not that it really matters, but I can see some co fusion for the OP when people start discussing OPKs and don't include the Pacific.

Oddly, I've heard people in the real world refer to any fixed blade knife as a "one piece". Anything that's not a folder, I guess?

I'm with you Kidcongo - traditionally, OPK refers to the old school CRK fixed blades that were one solid piece from tip to handle (minus the end cap). I can see where the term could cause confusion.

The one exception where you can use the OPK title is with an Inkosi that has the ball groove..... ok, ok, party foul, I went too far there.

Apologies everyone... I used the OPK term wrong. Thanks for the clarification/correction.

I still have much to learn. :(

Still love the Pacific, though. :)
