Hey guys! Just finished my first hawk mod, picked up a Woods Chogun and immediately went to work. I wanted to go for a traditional and slightly antique look, kinda like what you'd love to find in your grandparents attic or basement.
Anyway, the first thing I wanted to do was lesson the weight and remove the "hammer" look to it. I removed a decent amount of steel and added some file work. Then I rubbed various fruits and tomatoes on it as well as giving it a soak in wet coffee grinds. Stained the handle with water based finish and then rubbed several coats of Tried and True into it. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet but I think I am done with the mods for now.
