This knife looks like it incorporates the Tri-Ad locking system, which means one can expect it to be a heavier knife and a bit more difficult to open and close. The grip shape is much better than the first and second models, though I prefer the first model for my own purposes. It's slicker than the second and I'm still reeling over my bad experience with the Spartan, which is a bit of a kludge.

I beg to differ, while the Tri-Ad lock is a bit stiff at first after you work it a bit , it smoothes out to a large degree. I have a Spartan, while at first the mechanism was absurdly stiff, after a bit of use it's now smooth as silk both the lock lever and ease of deploying and folding. I can now even snap it open from completely closed to locked open with the flick of a wrist. Yeah AUS-8 may not be the best steel, but the price was right for a everyday beater.

Yep I did a little report of this knife and the only thing I have done to it is to bend the clip out a bit as it is a very stiff clip and to sand down the g10 cause it was to grippy at least for me. Knife is very smooth to open and close and opening it the sound it makes is about the loudest snap I have heard on a locking folder. I don't know for the bucks spent I don't think you could do better. Sure AUS8a isn't that great a steel but it ain't bad either and I have to agree with user in the vid in that this has to be one of the sharpest out of the box knives I have ever owned and that my friends is saying a whole lot. keepem sharp
