Just received a new Buck 110 from their custom shop (on the right) and am very pleased with this one. MagnaCut blade, nickel bolsters, the action is smooth, lockup is tight and it’s centered. Buck did a good job with this one.

You will notice they didn’t use pins on the scales. I really like this look, very clean. My question is, how are the scales being held in place? Epoxy? Are they hidden pins? Don’t have experience with a Buck 110 without scale pins. Any insights? Thanks

Yes they use an epoxy type adhesive and the lock rocker pivot is shorter to make it hidden.

the Idaho carving on the bolster, that's a cool one, whats it background?
I bought it from a collector a few years ago. It was one of those anniversary runs that Buck does once in a while. I think it was a 15 year anniversary one for the location they are currently at in Idaho. It’s an S30v blade, polished nickel bolsters. It’s a nice one

R rlewpolar congrats on your new CKS 110. Buck's custom shop does some really nice work. I bought a very similar knife about 2 years ago, only mine has 420hc and finger grooves. In retrospect, I sort of wish I had gone with the standard handle.

Hmmm, yours doesn’t have pins either. Maybe it’s a custom shop thing or maybe it’s because they want to show off the blue wood scales? Either way, and I say this in all modesty, yours and my Buck 110 are the best looking I’ve ever seen 😁

There is actually an option for the pins, on the order screen. Buck calls them 'rivets'. It's tucked away under the heading 'accents'. Apparently, no rivets is the default setting, and if you want them, you have to check the little box. The option was there when I ordered mine, but it was more out in the open and easy to see.

Thanks, learn something new every day 👍. I actually like it without pins so I’m glad I missed this
