Just thought y'all might be interested in seeing the new custom Justin Gingrich of Ranger Knives turned out for yours truly. It's been in the works for a while, and I just got it UPS yesterday. Justin did a superb job on this blade, it turned out exactly as I designed it. Fits my hand like a glove. A very solid, very sharp glove. It's a bit on the thick side at 3/16", made of 5160. The blade is 4 3/4", with a 4" cutting edge. Overall it's 9 1/4". The handle slabs are black canvas Micarta. The jimping on the long thumb ramp give a really solid purchase. It has a really nice foldover Kydex sheath with Tek-Lok by Buy Brown. I plan on EDCing it on a Mercharness. I've named the blade the AUCK, for Advanced Utility Carry Knife. Cheesy, maybe, but hey, it works.

A picture of it on the PB&J sandwich I made with it.

Photobucket album with the other 32 pics.

I know this isn't exactly the first place to post this, but I did design this blade with wilderness survival as wel as general use in mind. Plus I figured you guys might appreciate this. :D Sorry for the quality of the pictures, my camera is a bit old.

Thanks for looking, Josh.

Great Knife!

Justin did a beautiful job and your design is very practical.

It just cut that sandwitch in HALF:eek: with no problem:cool:

That's a VERY nice design IMHO!! Lots to like and looks useful as all get-out. Thank you for sharing it with us. Have fun with that little puppy.... which I'm sure you will. :D

Very cool, I liked the drawing you made of the design enough to tuck away for future reference, and it looks very true to your vision.
Hope it serves you well!

very cool looking design... i like it....
justin makes some nice knives.... i have an rd-7, that i absolutely love....

This is a great design I loved your Drawings, Please take some "in use" photos :)

I think Ranger would be remiss if they diddnt come out with an AUCK line I personally would like one of these, even better in a five inch incarnation:D

Thanks! He certainly did, and I tried. ;)

Thanks, RokJok! I sure hope it will turn out as useful as I intended. I sure will have fun with it, I'll be getting some action shots tomorrow, hopefully.

Thanks Liam. Justin did an excellent job matching it to my original design, I laid it over the sketch and the lines match perfectly. I can't wait to get it out in the woods and really use it!

Wow, you guys are giving this country boy a big head now... Justin truly does make some nice blades. I love my RD7 as well.

Again, thank you. Like I say, I'll try to get some action shots tomorrow, with luck it won't rain on me. I doubt Justin will make it a line, but with luck, I'll be making knives before long myself, if only as a hobby. I'm still in the equipment-buying stage at the present, but hopefully soon. Let me tell you, despite it's size, this is no little knife. It's got some heft to it. ;)

Thanks, guys. Sorry for not posting sooner. It did rain yesterday, and it was too wet today to really get out, but it's supposed to be sunnier tomorrow, so action shots will be forthcoming.

Junk knife and a crap design........I'l take it off your hands at a reasonable price.:D

No, really though, very nice.....I'm saving up to give Justin a call, I've only heard good things.

Also, will you be testing this on other lunch favorites?

The LUNCH WORLD WILL BE WATCHING!

Sweet blade, Justin does a great job with any type of custom work that anyone needs. And his customer service is top noth as well..
Post some pics of the knife in action when you get a chance!!!!!

Well, I finally managed to get some action pictures of my latest Ranger this week. The reason it took so long is I came down with some pretty bad strain of a cold that has been going around locally, and then just about the time I started feeling well enough to get outside and use the AUCK, the weather got bad again. So, anywho, I' finally got some shots this past week, and then promptly took four days to get them uploaded. I know, I'm a mess.

So, without further ado, Action Pics!

Continued in next post...

And for the remainder:

The cat in a couple of the pics is my 11-year-old cat Sadie who, until quite recently, was under the obviously mistaken impression that she was a dog. Thanks for looking, guys. This is one heck of an awesome knife, by the way. Oh, and to get a closer look at any of the pics, just click on them. Edited to add: falnovice, I did use it to cut up a roast the other day, and it performed most satisfactorily.

I want one! So its edge is on one side, how do you like that style?
It would be easier to sharpen I guess.
