Ok so yesterday I posted in Traddy Town about a custom I did on an old barlow blade, dubbed the Baridashi, I turned that little blade into a very usefull kiridashi and made a candy cane leather sheath to match  ( those who have seen it know :p ) I was so pleased with how it turned out I started looking at some of my other beat down or in-need-of-help knives and found my Cold Steel Outdoorsman, this guy had been dropped ina fire and the handle was melted beyond belief, the sheath was non existant after the accident also which proposed a problem.

After about 20 minutes of thinking of how I could fix this problem this is what I came up with, I call it the Jesters Spear, just because the sheath makes it look very odd, I had to pull together whatever scraps I could find for the sheath so I would call this a "temporary" sheath

Well here she is, paracord and all :o

That looks great now recon!!! It's nice to see old knives repurposed and re-used.

The baridashi was neat too...

I have a katana I need to rebuild; I'm thinking copper habaki & jute twine wrap for the handle.

LOL thanks XD it was alot of fun to do, I have more planned and I'll be buying up old knives to do this from now on ;)

Ya that is a cute little knife isnt it :o

LOL that sounds awsome, I need to step up to some of the more premium material like jute twine, it will make these repairs alot nicer :D Copper habaki? That would match the twine well.

Wait, just to make sure, this is the outdoorsman LITE right?

Looks great btw. Excellent paracord work you have done there

Whew. The thought of a ~$200 knife dropped into the fire made me wince.

The plastic guard shoulda given it away, but you didn't specify, so I didn't know if that was new guard or not.

Nice... that gives me the idea to melt the handle completely off my tanto lite or outdoorsman lite and trad wrap it japanese style...

LOL yes that would make anybodies cheeks pucker haha that and the thin stock the outdoorsman has a much thicker stock.

That is a little harder than it sounds, the soft rubber coating integrated into some hard plastic that takes forEVER to get off, very well made though, it is a durable handle.

Awesome, I wonder if I should do that to my tanto lite......... :D

...................This isa perfect example of why you need paracord  when I get up there I am going to paracord the bejeezis outa you :p LOL I'll be on facebook if you wanna chat.
