A while ago I got a small knife from one of the local custom makers, excellent little knife and I liked the design. I have decided to get him to make me another, larger knife loosely based on the design of the small one. This knife will be used at home around the property. I have a pretty good idea of what I want and the features it should have but I thought it might be interesting to see what ideas you guys might have for such a knife. Who knows, one of you might come up with something I think is a great idea.
The requirement is for a strong knife, blade around 10 Cm and capable of a bit of light abuse. Bit of light prying, cutting stuff of course, stirring things, hanging from beams as a plumb bob while building the stables, digging holes in bits of wood and leather, hammering things, just about anything a knife like object might be used for around a farm.
Give me some ideas on what you would like to see in such a knife, type of steel maybe, that sort of thing.
Basically, have a bit of fun with it and lets see where it goes.
