Hey guys and gals,
I just received my new Brian Johnson custom. It is 4.5 inches O-1 tool steel full flat grind, with Micarta grips and a full tang. I got the knife and could not stand it so I had to Patina the blade right away. Here are some before and after pics I hope you like. For the Patina I used mustard and a paint brush. I just brushed it on good and thick and let it sit for about three hours then cleaned it up.

That's a great looking piece, both before and after. The mustarding looks really good.

Looks like a very nice acquisition to me.

Do you have a larger "before" pic?

I like the patina you gave it too. Just speeding up the inevitable if it's intended to be a user, unless you were meticulous.

I just have a close up of the blade itself not the entire knife. My wife freaked because I got the thing day before yesterday and I have already had to "mess with it" in her words.

Ha! Sounds like we might be married to a couple of ladies that could be related.

Or maybe we're both just a couple of chaps that are always tinkering with perfectly good equipment to make them "ours".

Thanks for the closeup. That answered the question I had about the grind. Nice hollow grind on that one.

Cheers!

Taylor

Good looking knife and nice job with the patina!

I came up with the design and sent my idea to Brian and he did the rest. He does great work and sends you pics of your blade being built throughout the process. I think that is pretty cool.
