Just took delivery of a amberbone 6375 large stockman in CV today and am I a happy camper, this knife is great. The fit and finish is excellent, backsprings sit flush when all blades are open, no gaps anywhere, and the edge grinds were even and not steep at all. The even grinds translated into easy sharpening to a razor edge. The bone is also evenly colored and jigged on both sides, looks good. I was torn between this and the bonestag, but I had been wanting this one for a while, so I decided to go with the amberbone. No regrets at all there, she's big, pretty, and sharp.

I really want to thank Case for continuing to make a quality, US made, traditional carbon steel knife. I appreciate it and when I have it, I put my money where my mouth is. Still want a amberbone canoe in CV, probably take another trip to Bradford this spring to get that one.

That one is on my "soon" list, I really like the 6.5375 Bonestag in CV that I got awhile back, it's been begging for an Amber Bone playmate!

This has been my EDC for over a year, I'm very happy with it.

Great knife OT guy..:D ..I own one myself along with a Texas Jack in the same Amber Bone/CV...........both came sharp and flawless....the TJ is seing alot of pocket carry time as of late and is developing a nice patina naturally.........I also have the Stockman CV with the yellow handles which had seen alot of hard use and it also was nearly flawless when it was new.
With the Yellow handled Stockman I did the vinegar patina finish but the Amber Bone TJ is being allowed to develop its patina as time goes by.....

I have a amber bone medium stockman as well as a texas jack. Both of these knives are very well put together. I also have a few yellow handled knives that are also pretty well built. Seems to me that Case is really improving their QC.
I have a honey-brown bone canoe ordered. It is my first Canoe and I am really looking forward to getting it.

Over the past couple years, I have picked up the amber bone stockman, the bonestag, a yellow delrin stockman and a delrin trapper. Absolutely no complaints about quality control, either. My only complaint, as usual, is that I wish Case would put out more in the cv. I want to support a quality knife company based in the USA, but have pretty much run out of what interests me in their product line that is made from cv.

pickupman, keep a eye out for SFO's and unannounced runs of different patterns. Case made a run of CV copperheads and razor jacks the past year which have sorely tempted me also. Still available at vintageknives.com last time I checked, reasonably priced.

Thanks for all the comments, my new knife went into my pocket immediatly and will be allowed to develope a patina in its own time.

Thanks, will do. I've always liked the copperhead pattern, and was thinking about Eye Brand. I's rather have good ol' USA, anyday.

Man, that's great! I haven't owned a ton of Case knives over then years (maybe 8 or 10) but I've never had one where the backsprings would sit flush when a blade was open. Always sorta bugged me. Love hearing reports of Case's uptick in QC.

I just checked mine, they are near as damnit to flush, meaning you need to rub a nail across to feel it.
