New dagger. Seeking information.

I scored the dagger off the 'bay with little information. Only marking is 'ITALY'. The seller says it's from the seventies and with the little info I've found, I believe this was made for a German brand and manufacture was outsourced to Italy and sold on US PX's throughout Europe. It seems incredibly well-made. Probably the best manufactured knife I've ever held. Any further information would be much appreciated.

Looks like this. Marked "INOX" and supposedly made in Italy in the 70's. I don't know how accurate that is, but it came with the pic.

Here's one marked "Italy".

According to the provided info, they were made in the 70's for private military PX purchase during the Vietnam war by two different companies, Gutmann, and Romo (Romo being a sub-contractor of Gutmann).

The pommel was referred to as a "tightening nut", so maybe it unscrews from the tang.
