New Daggert 2 Sharpness?

Hi, I'm a new knife enthusiast and new to the forums. And I have a few questions about my new SOG Daggert 2.

I received my bead blasted Daggert 2 today and it is not as factory sharp as my Becker BK9. It will poke just fine, but will not cut paper.

My questions are: Can my Daggert 2, or any dagger, ever be as sharp as a Bowie or other non culinary knife? And if so, is there any special technique to sharpening it, or can I sharpen it with my Edge Pro?

I've got a Daggert 2 - but to be honest I never used it for anything. Mine is pretty sharp, but not as sharp as most new knives out of the box.

If and when I ever do get the change to use mine, I plan on using my Sharpmaker - but I may try freehanding on my stones also.
