Just got back from the Blade Show. My lone knife purchase leaped off of Daniel Winkler's table and FORCED me to buy it.

5 3/4" blade of forged 5160 carbon steel with a full tapered tang. 10 1/2" overall. Elk leg bone handle with carbon steel top and bottom bolsters and nickel silver spacers. Karen Shook rawhide covered Latigo leather sheath and concho.

I wasn't planning on buying any knives this year, but the fact that I have ASOLUTELY NO SELF-CONTROL screwed up those plans.

Almost forgot - Point Seven Studios shot the knife at the show, so I should have a MUCH better pic in about a week.

Nice knife Kelly! You know I can't resist Daniel and Karen's work either. Everyone is unique. Looks like a good 'un. Is the concho damascus? Enjoy!

Kelly,
Looks great! I bet that knife could slice self control into itty bitty pieces! Whoops! Looks like it did.

NO ONE can go to Blade Show and come home empty handed.

Kelly,
That is a classic beauty, good luck with it!
Oh, and as far as self control goes...
I think that they have a hidden machine that sucks it out of you, as you enter any knife show

Kelly, I am a big fan of Daniel Winkler's knives and that one is a real beauty. Congratulations.

Another nice one Kelly! I want to add that the knife looks ten times better in real life. Everything melds into a rustic cowboy package. Makes me want to herd cattle on a long drive. Of course, I might have to cut some rope and skin some game along the way. Maybe a knife fight or two.

Nice Kelly, the blade reminds me of a J.D. Smith Bowie that I once had, mine had a handle of stag but your's looks very nice and Mr. Winkler makes excellent knives!

As Alan said though...weak weak man...

can't blame you though!

A great looking Bowie, Kelly. I too am an admirer -- unfortunately thru pics only -- of Mr. Winkler's magic, and Ms. Shooks fantastic sheaths. To me, an awful lot of Bowies look somehow unbalanced. Yours looks perfectly balanced to me. Excellent choice!

Hey Man! Beautiful!
But you already knew that.

It was an honor and a pleasure to get to meet you at the show. I really enjoyed talking knives with you and seeing what you had in that bag of yours. Remember this guy?...

Well, a partial-creation.

That's my Darrel Ralph D/A EDC that I helped build at Darrel's place last October.

Sorry I never made it back to your table. Time simply ran out. We headed back to Charlotte about 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. It was good to finally meet you (and a bunch of other fine forumites.)

Thanks to everyone for compliments on the bowie. I haven't been able to put it down since the show. It's even gone to work with me every day! Just further proof of my weakness...

I don't know exactly what it is but just about every knife of Daniel's that I see I want and the same applies to Karen's sheaths.

Simply Beautiful!!

I just received the the PointSeven Studios picture from Daniel and updated my first post. It's just a bit better than my first scan. ;)

Howdy There Kelly....!
That is one great looking blade, I love his sense of primiativeness. With the old look, could think that you had turn back into a time far go. Just thought that you were a little more modern that his style. BUT IT IS ONE GREAT BLADE. Cna't wait to get to see it in Winston Salem in Sept. See ya there...!

Later "Possum"

Thomas - Good to hear from you. It'll definitely be in Winston with me. As far as the style knives I like, if it's sharp and pointy, I like it. :D
