Guys,

Things have been somewhat...rough for a while. I've been sleeping on a friend's recliner since I moved out. My tags on both vehicles are expired, and they both need work. Work's been tough, too, partially because most of my students met me when I was just the student teacher in the classroom, and they keep trying to "push the envelope". There's a significant delay in getting paid, and I had the privilege of paying to work in the classroom last semester while doing my student teaching!

But. I got my first paycheck yesterday. I thought I would probably just be getting my substitute pay for all the sub teaching I did in December, but I got my teacher pay for January. I looked at the check, expecting about $500, and said..."I'm rich!" :D

My mental state in general has improved with being out in the house. I paid most of my past-due utility bills last night, and I should be able to get one of my vehicles running just fine this weekend, and renew my tags this week. I should be able to have my own roof, small as it will be, over my head soon.

And I have friends. There really is no substitute for having people who care about you.

Peace,

John

Good to hear, John!

It sounds like things are progressing well for you, and thats all any of us can ask for.
Aint it funny how the small things that we often take for granted are the ones we find peace in when we finally walk from the darkness into the light? I've been round that block a time or few and if i didnt persist in being optimisic, i'd have capsized. I just grit my teeth, put my chin up and head straight into the wind. When i've weathered the storm i often wonder how the hell i pulled it off, but am glad i did.

True and wise words.

There are reasons folks care for you.

So I won't take up too much space quoting, I'll just +1 everything above me. :)

Keep on keepin' on, or, as another famous American was fond of saying, "Endeavor to persevere."

Heh. I'm not sure that translates to how you mean it. Or maybe it does. :D

And who doesn't love Chief Watie?

John

I've always known you would be fine in the long run Uwinv............ and so it is and so are you.  :D You have already been a great positive influence on more people than you know about.;) :D
Life is like a roller coaster with all its ups and downs, the adventure is how we face it.... whether as an adventure to enjoy and have fun with, or something to fear.... Seems like most of us have bouts of both.:o :p ;)

"Endeavor to persevere."...to keep your pecker up.

That's the one and only time in my life I'll be able to use that line.:D

Seriously, I'm glad things are turning around for you.

Great to hear the news, smoke sent that things continue to move forward.

Good to know John. I like hearing positive news.

oo-rah, John. :usaflag:

Someone should finish the Chief's quote: "We thought about these words, 'endeavor to persevere'. Then we declared war on the withe man.'"

Mike
