just received my new delica. think it is just abt the perfect edc knife. anybody care to comment on vg-10.
came razor sharp.

I carry mine all the time too. It is a perfect EDC. Mine is the ZDP-189 steel though, so I can't comment on VG-10.

for edc, i love VG10, it takes a very fine edge easily, resharpens, and holds it, and i TRIED to make the thing rust and i couldn't make it rust till i took it to the beach in Florida, swam with it for a few hours and didn't rinse it till the next day, the thing had 2 rust spots on it. so yeah VG10 is awesome, though when it loses its fine edge, it needs to be sharpened, unlike 154cm or s30v that keeps a working edge for a long time.

I haven't been on this forum in forever. I just got done cleaning some sticky residue off of my Delica. When I was cleaning it I thought about how much I love my knife and how I went through a few different models before finally deciding on it as my EDC blade. The VG-10 steel does quite well for most EDC tasks, if you were doing heavy-use tasks i'd recommend the ZDP. Part of the reason why I haven't been on the forums much is because the Delica satisfied my needs so well, I sold all my other knives and have just the one.

Where's the fun in that??? lol

The Delica is an awesome knife. Good EDC size. Excellent ergos. Versatile blade shape and great steel. I really like the VG-10, although I still hope to pick up one of the ZDP ones at some point. It sharpens up easy, takes a great edge, retains it well, and is easy to maintain.

I was breaking up a bag up ice with my new Endura yesterday in VG-10. I found that I rolled the edge in a few parts. Admittedly, this ice was really hard after having half melted at one point and refrozen. I was impressed though because the edge took a minor roll in a couple of areas and was easily fixed on a fine stone. After noticing the rolls on the edge of my new blade (I don't mind using my knives but it was only 2 days old!!!), I switched to a fixed blade in 1095. It chipped in one spot lol. Definitely happy with the VG-10s performance. After a couple swipes it is shaving sharp.

hello, i need to get a delica sometime. i have the stretch, endura 4, dragonfly models in vg 10 and its becoming a favorite steel. it has a good amount of carbon, vanadium, chrome, and most importantly has added cobalt which enhances the other alloying elements. my stretch held a thinly profiled shaving edge through 357 feet of paperboard and was still cutting well but not shaving. very rust resistant.
