New Delica

In an older thread Sal mentioned that he was thinking about changing the Delica to a sub 3" blade I think in VG-10. Has anyone heard anything else about the Delica?

We're moving in that direction. Production will vary in the different variations over the next 6 months, but ultimately all Delica's will be sub 3".

Thanks Sal. I have several of the older Delica's with the integral clip but I've given a couple away to people that need <3" folders and the clips on a couple are broken. I have the carbon fiber ones but I'm afraid I'll hurt the finish if I use them for hard use. Please let us know when the first ones come out.

BTW, thanks for listening to the suggestions on the Delica.

Isn't the Delica pretty close to <3in right now? Does this mean that Spyderco will stick with the older style Delica blade? Personally I prefer the newer blade, it looks much nicer plus there seems to be more tip.

Probably not an issue of production complications, probably more of legal concerns. It will be a real treat for the <3in crowd.

I don't think there is a problem, it is just that by shortening the blade very slightly (to 2 15/16") it becomes more clearly legal carry for those living in states with a 3" limit.

Hey, I was thinking...I do that some times you know...if the blade is a little shorter it will be about the same as a Standard then just not as thick? Any thoughts on having a G10 handle on the new version maybe a 'dark forest green'? Well, I would go for anything really seeing the Delica series is my number 2 in collection, however, I've enjoyed having the G10 Standard in my pocket as of late. Can you let us know more on the variant of the handles for this new member Sal? Thanks...
