This is a new design I am working on. I would like to hear some opinions before I make it.
Overall length is 16.5", Blade is 10.8" tip to bolster

16.5" long with the blade at 10.8"...gonna make it in 1/4" RWL-34...bolsters are going to be RWL too and handle is probably going to be Dessert Ironwood...but still not sure about that.

Good design! looks like it would make a fine fighter.

For some reason my eyes keep getting drawn to the integral guard. Its angular shape distracts from the lines of the rest of the knife. You may want to extend the bolster to cover the guard, or do something to soften its shape. I can almost feel the sharp 1/4" stock digging into my finger as I hold the knife. Perhaps, just adding a bevel to the edge of the guard will work.

Very nice. I think the guard is just fine. But if you made the handle a little wider towards the guard it might be even better. Maybe... :D

I love the knife! How long until its available, and how much will it cost? I would be very interested in buying it, if I can afford it. I hope it gets built. Anyways, keep up the good work.

Great minds think alike!

I had exactly the same thoughts about the bolster as not2sharp. It looks "unfinished" as it is, but a bolster sculpted to cover the integral guard would give it much more pleasing lines. (IMHO, YMMV etc...)

Other than that, it's excellent!
:D

That will be a beauty!
I just have one word to say...
"Subhilt"
Either way, I think you've got a winner on your hands :)

FWIW, RWL-34 is the powder metallurgy version of ATS-34...reportedly results in better performance due to the more uniform array of the alloys...I know this coz I just made my first fixed blade of of the stuff ;)

I like it a lot, and not just because it strongly resembles a (much) larger version of a Pat Mitchell I've got (English/Sheffield maker, brass and dark hardwood, 6" blade (440C?).
Wish I knew how to attach a pic here.
I agree the lines of the sub-guard might be softened a bit; neat looking, but sure looks like it would dig into the fingers.
