Here's a new design I came up with that I made for myself. I really enjoy making these linerlocks. They're a lot of fun. I can already think of a few ways to tweek the design to make it better. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. The blade is 4 1/4" long and the handle is 5 3/8". The blade is Chad Nichols damascus, .160" thick, .060" thick Ti liners, Ti pocket clip, G10 scales and backspacer. Thanks for looking!

very nice design. No surprise there.

Nice one Ray! I need to save my pennies and get one of your folders. I like the thumb ramp.

Thanks guys. This is Chad Nichols stainless damascus. I had a difficult time getting the pattern to show up nicely. This was my first time finishing stainless damascus. I think it could have turned out better but I can live with it. I just wish it would have darkened up some.

Another beauty Ray!

Your knives just keep getting better and better............:)

I agree, one can almost see the progression with each knife.

I think its time you tried bolsters..... and then a framelock.

I would like to see some knurling on that opening stud. ;)

Guys, thanks for the kind words. They are very encouraging. Making folders is a lot of fun. I like making them better than fixed blades. It does come with a lot of frustration sometimes. I don't always get it right and I've had to scrap a few but that's part of learning. I just want everything to come out perfectly. I'm lucky to have a good teacher nearby. I do feel that almost every new knife I make is better than the last, at least in design. As far as bolsters I'll get to that real soon. It's just a matter of doing it, I don't see it being difficult. Framelocks, are also coming up soon. I almost started one yesterday but decided to make it a linerlock instead. I chickened out at the last minute.:o

Beautiful work, as usual! I wish more makers would finish damascus like that. I really like the subtle look of damascus when it's not etched.

You have some of the cleanest grinds and designs... Very nice as usual.

Agreed.

Personally I like it when the pattern is kind of muted. I think this one looks fantastic. Overly dark blades look kind of cheap to me.

It is kind of cool when you hand a blade to someone and they have to take a second look at the subdued pattern.
